love the album Hold On by them. after some digging for what they are up to I found this old EP I never heard before so I searched it on YouTube for the new experience. if you like some elder emo give it a spin

this is the debut from canadian emo band Arms Length. an absolute modern masterpiece for emo music.
the lyrics on this thing are tortured, dealing with themes of memory, family, loss, and isolation. compositionally i love it. tasteful strings and twinkling riffs over heavy blasts of sound. and speaking of sound, it’s mixed and mastered beautifully. every listen gives me something new to chew on.
personally, this one also got me through the roughest period in my adult life. i heard them for the first time live when they were opening for heart attack man right before this album came out. i was absolutely floored by their performance. something about this band breathed life into me and god that’s what i love so much abt music :) my fave songs on it are formative age and everything as i knew it. tough love is a fuckin banger too

Linked my favorite song from their recent EP. Found this artist through tiktok a few months ago and had been really looking forward to this EP. They bring this labored, midwestern emo thing to their sound that feels really comforting to me. Plus, i love a vocal flip, especially one that sounds like sad yodeling. I just think they’re really cool :-)

found out about this one from my twitter oomfs when it released a few weeks back and ive been OBSESSED. super catchy cathartic uk emo, every song on this ep is an absolute banger. the riffs are awesome, the drums are powerful, the harmonies are huge, just lovelovelovelovelove. almost like an angsty, anthemic algernon cadwallader. super duper jealous they’re across the atlantic but as soon as they find their way to the states i will be doing everything in my power to see them. HIGHLY recommend, t_failz EOTY.

Iowa dream and love is overtaking me on vinyl are perfect. Love how unique his sound and production is. Thy slaughter in the car feels right with the crazy production ag cook is known for. blasting the song ‘lost everything’ over and over.
