the DAY that it came out my friend and I drove a whole hour away to the nearest theater it was playing at (just for it to be released much closer the next week) Neither of us have had a theater experience quite like that. The seats were pretty packed, and EVERYONE was viscerally reacting to everything that was going on, laughing nervously at how outrageous of a movie it is. I think about that experience quite often it was so fucking awesome and made it one of my top fave movies for a while, but def one of my favorite A24 movies. The rewatches at home unfortunately haven’t been the same😔

Saw this in a small theater earlier this year and it was unlike anything ever. I had seen it multiple times before, but being in a space with strangers watching this painted fever dream makes it so much better. It was so hard to not quote the entire film.

simply an amazing film, so much that i've seen it at the theatre TWICE and the second time was even better than the first. i'm not seeing enough people talking about it and both screenings i went to were fairly empty (i was one of four or five people at the first screening i went to) so GO SEE IT! and it's not even my favourite film by bertrand bonello which goes to show that he's truly one of the greats in modern cinema.
