we used to sing this kookaburra song in girl scouts, "kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he, laugh, kookaburra, laugh! kookaburra gay your life must be" and that was my introduction to cool birds I guess!

pigeons
pigeons are cute and chubby and have beautiful iridescent coats. they remind me of my cats. incredible that we are surrounded by these creatures. there is one sitting next to me on a park bench that took my breath away.

THE SPACE BETWEEN
When looking up in a densely packed forest, i find there is so much beauty in the cracks where the sunlight escapes between a canopy of trees. Like maps of rivers, or veins in the arm, the space between has so much merit in its own and more, so many stories to tell. I love looking up! We should all make more of a habit of it! Wings of desire!
