These two websites are your friends: Logical Increments PCPartPicker Logical Increments’s $1157 Superb Tier build config is pretty good and should do the trick but if you have a couple hundred more to spend, I’ll give you a slightly better alternative below for $1317. Processor (CPU): Intel Core i5-13600KF (Socket LGA 1700) $200.00 USD Motherboard:  ASRock Z790 PRO RS DDR5 $129.00 USD Memory (RAM): Get the 32gb kit listed as an alternative in the build guide. 32gb will future proof and allow you to expand into bigger games. TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan 32GB (2 x 16GB) 5600MHz $93.00 USD Graphics Card: Guide says get the RX 7700 XT. I like this card but the 7800 XT is better overall. RX 7800 XT $550-$675  Cooler (HSF): Good suggested cooler, or you could get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 $80.00 USD Storage: The guide gives bad suggestions for storage tbh. Hard Drives suck and are obsolete these days; you can get a 1TB NVMe SSD for the same price as an old 1TB HDD. Here’s a fast 1TB NVMe with DRAM cache that is cheaper than the ancient Intel ones the guide suggests. Acer Predator GM7000 M.2 1TB $72.99 USD Power Supply (PSU): Don’t cheap out on a power supply. The most critical part. The guide suggested ones are good but they are not modular which is a pain to deal with. Modular ones have gone down in price and will save you time and money. be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 650W ATX 3.0 Power Supply $97-104 USD Case: The creators of the guides really like Phanteks products but you don’t need an Enthoo Pro. Just get a solid Corsair case instead.  Corsair FRAME 4000D RS ARGB Black Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower $94-109 USD Superb Build Guide Total: ~$1157 USD Wakeuplmd Build Guide Total: ~$1317 USD

On the advice of my favorite most trusted giga-nerd (who has never steered me in the wrong direction and collects/loves/borderline anthropomorphizes old electronics like he’s the guy from The Brave Little Toaster), I’m seeking to replace my janky cheap computer with a cheap but very much not janky Lenovo Thinkpad. I’ve been doing a lot of research and there are whole communities of nerds who are obsessed with them for their pragmatic allure, thoughtful design, durable hardware, higher-level specs in used models for a low cost (we’re talking like $200), easy customizability and repairability, and the weird keyboard clit. I already BOUGHT a T480s with 24 GB of RAM and an i7 processor but my package randomly got delivered to the wrong address :( I just got my refund so it’s time to begin again… in a way it’s good because I think the i5 will better suit my needs. The really hardcore nerds would recommend reaching slightly above this price range for a T14 1st gen with Ryzen 5 or 7 but I’m not looking to do anything crazy here I just want to type and watch stuff and have a lot of browser tabs open + I like the T480s display better + the T480s only weighs 3 pounds 🫦

To be honest, you can play that game and so much more if you are willing to get a used desktop pc (that someone built) on fb makretplace. Super super good deals on there. In the long term a desktop PC will last you much longer than a laptop. Additionally if you ever want to upgrade parts or fix something broken, you can for cheap/easily. I understand the convenience of a laptop tho, and if that is what you are set on, I would def get a PC not a macbook - since very few games can be played on mac. Happy to rec good laptops depending on your budget 👍

Everything in your life does not have to be subscription based, and subscription does not equate a service being good. If I’m paying $24.99 a month to watch Netflix in 4K UHD, I should expect to see what I pay for, not subpar playback latency, low bitrate streams, many app crashes, and overall looking terrible on anything that isn’t a 4K display. Remember when you could buy things and own them, like, forever? There is a better world out there past Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and Amazon Prime.

You don’t have to tell everyone everything in/about your life, especially online, in today’s online yet frequently data-breached world. Like the great Christopher Wallace once said: Keep your family and business completely separated
