“your 14yo comes to you and says they want to quit tennis (been doing since 8). What do you do?” And so on and so forth, the friend answering, you giving more detail or the reaction etc etc until situation is exhausted Fun way to explore situations you are not (yet) in, to get to know your friends better, to communally think through how to live in the world and with people 💞

Talking to one of your friends and going over the contents of your day/week/month only for it to evolve into a conversation about social, cultural and familial pressures, habits, relationships, and aspirations is so incredibly underrated. More rewarding than therapy as well imo because you get to listen to someone else‘s mind wander in the same direction as your own. (Crane emoji cus it’s rly constructive)

Like think of a time when you had to do the dishes and it prolly sucked, but like dishes with a friend is so much fun. And you can apply this to anything.

It literally is my job BUT outside of work: 🌟We have dance parties. A lot. Daily. 🌟We host a monthly game night. Small World is a crowd favorite. It’s like Risk, but you get different “races” like giants or ghouls and you different abilities. 🌟I live in the Midwest so.. cornhole is always part of the party. 🌟There’s this new game we’ve been playing, idk the name, but each person has a stack of paper and you draw something on the chosen theme, then pass it, and that person has to describe with words what you drew, then the next person has to draw based on the written description. It’s pretty fun because things typically veer wildly off course. 🌟We sometimes do crafts, but it’s usually for a specific reason. For example, all of my friends burned pieces of wood and hung them to create a wall decoration for my daughter’s room and for me to have in the birth room. Tbh, I love having kids around. It’s so sweet seeing my friends accept the play bid my son puts out. Lots of adults end up playing tag or hide and seek lol In general I like DOING things with people. Coffee chats are fine but if I’m going to be seeing people often it’s more enjoyable to be engaged in something. We always talk about what we need to anyway.

So sweet to send them to thank them for your shared experience, and I’d much rather look at one of these than ten pics from that day

go to events even if u think they’ll be iffy - better to have some memories of living life than none, go to library, go sit on the nearest grass also u can’t expect good arts and culture if u don’t support the bad/amateur stuff as well 🦀

Eg in shower, on walks, during commute, making dinner, to go to sleep, getting dressed. be able to do all these comfortably in silence. then u can try phase them back in in a way where they actually contribute something and ur not just listening for the sake of it
