Because laying on the floor crying and getting comforted by your favorite record playing on your record player is an almost catharsic experience and worth every penny. Its like hearing your favorite artist for the first time again. (And dont forget to let the record play on mute on Spotify to get the scrobbles for last.fm. We are depressed, not barbaric)

some people enjoy spending after hours shopping for new clothes. me? the record shop has always been a place of pure solace. the funny thing is, i donโt even own a record player - i just enjoy flipping through the lyrics and credits and immersing myself into the art of each album.

I have to be quite real. I love buying vinyls when I can. For me, thereโs something really special about listening to an album on vinyl. It is such a comfort to me especially since I spend a lot of time alone. To me, Iโm not just buying a physical item but an emotional experience that I can relive over and over again. To experience music in this way, to me, feels intimate and spiritual. I think itโs worth it. Maybe this is a really dramatic way for me to justify something silly. But it really makes me happy!
Ps. another thing I love about vinyls that I forgot to mention is the ritual of it. I love clicking the start button and flipping it over when side a is done. Ok Iโm done geeking out about it, thank you for reading.
