I think I always want to have a day of nothing in theory. Like if I've had a lot on one day I WANT my next day to be completely free to like 'recover' or something. But that empty day is ALWAYS sad and makes me go insane. I hate having to do something after already doing something else but it always always makes me feel better once it's done. It doesn't even have to be a proper event or involve other people necessarily I think I just need to make sure I've got some sort of plan for every day of my life going forward because it gives me something to get out of bed for and makes me feel good. :)

and don’t do any errands or cleaning that day, just like set a little budget — get a book and read it in the park with a snack, or take yourself out to coffee / people watch and then go see a movie or two. or go to a museum right when it opens and then get lunch (outside!) for yourself and pick something else to do after. for me, at least one part has to be artistic (book/film/art) and another has to be outside (most important part) then at the end of the day, find a good spot to watch the sunset and journal about your day and feelings!! it feels better because you’ll be in less of a slump after a nice day and will have a lighter mood to be thinking about what’s up lastly… go home and do a full shower, do the most relaxing possible version of your nightly routine (and no scrolling social media). if you can, wash your sheets a day or two before and put on a fresh set of PJs that night too… it makes crawling into bed that much better (also bonus points if you meditate before you fall asleep) i find this (one-day vacation? 12 hr solo date?) is a really nice way to reset my brain when everything is overwhelming or i feel like i’m stuck not doing much besides going through the motions. i tend to do it every few weeks lately and it is surprisingly refreshing ✨

Sometimes I get in bed, I’ve done nothing but breathe, stay in place, and distract myself for the entire day, and I feel a pretty heavy weight that’s only gotten bigger as I’ve gotten older; you know that voice that says, ā€œi’ve got to do what this successful person did or i need to finally take that advice or i need to be PRODUCTIVEā€. and in fact, I spent the whole day worrying so much about being productive that I didn’t do anything I really wanted to do in the first place. And that’s okay! We are not machines, we’re not broken or repaired, we just are. we are not measured by what we can produce, even though the society we live in wants us to feel that way soooo bad. Fuck that. find the love in the world and everything else will fall into place. be okay with doing nothing

I don't really enjoy pillows like I prefer my head to be at body level if I'm flat on my back. And I like to lay on a more rigid surface than a mattress so a nice hard floor is peeeerfect

It's efficient AND it's fun. Sometimes when I'm walking home from work I'll do an extra little loop around somewhere to get extra songs in. When you get the perfect songs for the pace you're going it's just SO MUCH FUN šŸ•ŗ
