still in progress but felt like sharing. i was inspired to create this after a really nasty interaction with a professional artist that left me questioning my entire career. i wanted to tackle the idea of making something beautiful out of something deeply painful. i've somewhat lost the fire i had for it, but i still really feel the imagery in my soul. also built and stretched the canvas all myself!

made this a few months ago when i was feeling much worse, but it finally got me to put my hands on a canvas again & figure out my art style! i'm so proud of it; it's one of the first things that turned out like i wanted it to in my head. (i like going back over the painting with white paint pen & black ballpoint pen to make it look more sketchy & graphic)

Painted on a big format for the first time ever! I bought a bigger canvas than I ever had before following a friend’s rec but I didn’t try painting on it until two months after I bought it. I painted without looking at the time for hours and I’m so happy. Nowhere near done but I hadn’t felt the peace and flow of creation in so long, it’s the only thing that matters.

love indulging in the sensory experience, no worries about the product, just colors and canvas and unfettered creativity

i met this sweet and shy puppy for the second time yesterday. she was abused by a previous owner and in turn has a very reserved personality. she glides around slowly and has these soulful, calm eyes that she rarely lifts from the floor. out of the blue, she sat beside me and pushed her small head against my palm, wanting to be pet. i damn near CRIED! she's never been this sweet to me. what a wonderful soul.

wanted to make a mace out of one of those spiky seed pods, and put it stretching down the outside of my arm so it would bend and move with my elbow. what do we think chat?
