go get magazines or books from the thrift store and make some art. functional sometimes even,,??!?!! this is the lid to a box i will store trinkets in. one of these cut outs is from a magazine i photo copied for a quarter cuz i didnt wanna ruin the original. theres so many possibilities ! ive even used junk mail newspaper ads that usually get thrown away

I love doing collages, cuz all you really need are magazine cutouts and glue. There's a very low barrier to entry, skill-wise AND supply-wise, unlike painting. Digital collages are fun too, but I try to have less screentime by doing the paper ones. If I want to re-use pieces instead of gluing them down permanently, sometimes I'll just take a picture of the current arrangement to immortalize it, and then start over on a new composition. That way, I don't have to constantly buy new magazines to get new cutouts. This is one of my favorite ones I've done so far:

I didnt think working at an Ice cream shop would Heal me so much.
i get a free scoop every shift, and i Make chocolate covered strawberries π it reminds me of the game candy land. i used to play it all the time as a kid And chew on the pieces. i Love Ice-cream so much that even when the Mean old people come in i still have a Smile on my face
