Its hard for me to find the words for this one. Its just this massive monolith that I stand in front of. Maybe the greatest achievement in music in the 21st century

@26GIRLS look up “Joanna Newsom live at Bottletree Lounge 2006” on youtube—bootleg of a show she played a week after it came out. Peak of her powers

I hope this fits what you asked for, but even if it doesn't I feel like this is an album everyone should hear. There's so many great names attached to this project that it was essentially destined to be a success, but Newsom really created a masterpiece here. Hauntingly immersive lyrics with a vocal delivery so grating she might as well join a screamo band, and flawless, almost classical songwriting. This is one of the most stunning works of art ever

I’m slowly making my way through Joanna’s discography. I spent a lot of time listening to her album Ys which is incredible, but finally Have One On Me is starting to click. Joanna’s songs are often so long and unconventionally structured that they take a while to settle in but oh my god this album is so good. I also love watching videos of her performing, she’s insanely precise with her playing and singing it’s super impressive. The title track and Soft As Chalk are currently my favorites.

The Cameron Winter show last night was unbelievable. There is something very special about him and I believe he has the potential to be a generational artist in a few years. Have not walked away from a show feeling like that in a long time. god is real

Her (and David Rawlings) songwriting is so balanced and patient. Those first dissonant notes on the title track hit and I just can‘t turn it off
