An entire generation decimated by an inability to think and with the taste of a facebook grandma. It’s only going to get worse. The only solution is the hasty construction of a rigorous social taboo against it.

I totally agree, but must people are pretty quick to use it and with the way it’s being shoved down our throats by every single website and app idk if there’s much to do. My uni is thinking of allowing certain types of ai on essays (i study politics) which i think would make things way worse. But there are some ais that are made to assist you and give you feedback, I am curious on what your thoughts are on those.

@ARLINE it’s a good question. the challenge with AI is similar to the challenge I have with search engines. Our ability to call upon knowledge is predicated upon consistent use of mnemic traces. install enough shortcuts and soon the brain realizes it doesn’t need those functions anymore, and releases them. The more we use them the more we physically depend on them. Perhaps it sounds a bit silly but I remember more of the coursework where I actively had to search for information myself physically vs having it pulled up for me. My concern is that the only thing we will remember after is the prompts and not the content.

I totally buy that. We for the most part have an adult population with some form of critical thinking skills, but with the decimation of the Dept. of Education plus introducing AI in school, I worry about what things look like in 10-20 years

@THECLACK totally, and the skills that AI replaces also support memory and linguistic capacity. We’re approaching a psychosis point I feel

short form video content is destroying our brains, collectively. It won’t always be this way, though. we are lost in the sauce. there needs to be a revolution. something that brings it to a head to end. It’s really bad guys

Please, people that are blessed to grace this earth. Put your brains into use and just spend 10 seconds of your mighty life to think. Just think. Yes, your mind might be fried of the constant media usage, but you are a Google search away to become a part of the common knowledge community Edit: and to think that 25 people agreed to this outrageous statement. That 25 people did not use the muscle in their skull to just have basic thinking.

nothing will ever change my mind ever. chatgpt is gen z and gen alpha‘s equivalent of boomers refusal to recycle and ignorance of the environmental destruction that factories have caused. it’s making all of you dumb, stupid, and lazy sheep. if you can’t write an email or to-do list without a robot……….. all hope is lost for humanity. truly genuinely sincerely do not care even a little bit who gets offended by this… somany more thoughts i could go for hours. there is no circumstance where i think a.i. use is NECESSARY enough to actually use it ever

Last Thursday, a meteor appeared in the night sky over Los Angeles. I stood in place for 30 seconds watching it blaze brilliant red and orange before fizzling out suddenly. The experience moved me immensely and filled me with a sense of hope that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. I read later that it was a SpaceX satellite. I wish I hadn’t.

There's something about a wet and humid early morning that heals my soul. It's like a free sound bath. Especially if you are lucky and have a little bit of thunder alongside.
