michelle zauner’s band before she was japanese breakfas! i of course found then through japanese but they’re SO good like rocky punk i thinkkk but just so cool her voice is amazing and so passionate and the guitar and instrumental is so good too. some of my favourites that i’d recommend trying is dark matter, lindsey, tropical jinx and dixie gun šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ a bit different to her style now but still so great so if you're enjoying jbrekkie after her new album ā€˜for meloncholy brunettes and sad women’ i’d totally recommend her older stuff as well as little big league despite it being quite different

WHEN THE PAWN : fiona apple. just lovley. just insane. every track is a banger but one. you know the one. i listen to it anyway. my faves are on the bound, to your love, a mistake, and i know. AMNESIAC : radiohead truly the better more beautiful sister of Kid A. more experimental, more weird and freaky, more of thom yorke just being a funny guy. i listen to this album front to back at least once a month. my record is 6 times in one day. i was in colorado on the most beautiful hike and i listened to the album during and after, so now i see the mountains when i hear it. TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY : kendrick lamar i don’t listen to kendrick regularly, but this album is LOVELYYYYY it’s so so good and the narrative builds throughout the album so you really gotta sit through the whole thing sometime. For Free? is the best track idc. these walls is a close second. I GOT HEAVEN : mannequin pussy YUM YUM YUMMYYYYYYY. the punk and pop mix is so good it makes me feel like i am so hot and sexy kiss kiss mannequin pussy i love you GIRL WITH FISH : feeble little horse favorite album as of late. it’s so fun and poetic and shoegazy and folky all at once. Steamroller is a banger. HOMEBODY : homebody weird project started by a local ABQ band. show them some love! weird stuff, but it’s really fun. PUSSY WHIPPED : bikini kill probably my all time fav punk album. it was released before Joan Jett reproduced all their stuff so you really get that diy off beat feel. the constant anger throughout and the switch into For Tammy Rae is so fun. i personally love alien she and tammy rae.

A few hours of scrolling on here today has done more for my taste in music than years and years of Sp*tify algorithms. Highly recommend turning to the PI.FYI community for something fresh. That in mind here's a couple of bands I really like that I have had to introduce to like 90% of people, I've tried to make sure all of these artists have under 100k monthly listeners on Spoofy: - Blue Deputy: indie dream rock who will absolutely become my favourite band the moment they release their first EP (they keep promising it's in the works!!!!) favourite tracks: Cypress, New Jersey, Lucky Star (that one's not on streaming yet!) - Lesbian Bed Death: Gothic Hard Rock/Metal that packs a hell of a punch, they're so much fun. Favourite tracks: Maria, Your Love Makes Everything Worse, She Loves Lilith - Sean Solomon: He has that one song on tiktok where he plays along to VCR recording of the music video (that I believe he drew and animated himself)/backing track. That one song is Car Crash and it's just quite lovely, really - The Man the Myth the Meatslab: more acoustic midwest emo I found on TikTok lmao. effortlessly, i feel everything is eerily similar to Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl but imo not in a way that feels like a ripoff, it actually elevates the song for me. It's like a spin on a similar theme from a different perspective - Chloe Slater: working class, indie, feminist indie rock anthems for disenfranchised people who just wanna dance. favourite songs: Fig Tree, Sucker, Thomas Street - Life to Experience: this is kind of a memey one bc their album The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads appears on a tonne of people's cringe/bad album covers lists, but guys. Please. I promise you it is genuinely one of the best Prog Rock albums of all time it rules so hard. Please try it. this is not an original take but it IS a correct take. - Wax Fang: this band had one song appear in an episode of American Dad of all places, and whoever put it there should have immediately been given a raise and creative control of the entire show. The song they used is called Majestic, and the album it's from, La La Land, is an incredible rock album.

there’s something so funny about seeing a friend before they notice you cause it’s like a look into what they’re like alone seeing how they walk when they’re by themselves or their expression when they’re just going about or looking around

discovered this song after it came on in the credits for the film the outrun and it’s literally so good the start literally hooks you with the crazy cool and unique accordion then the rest of the song is also amazing i love the bittersweet feel of it with the line ā€˜this is the day your life will surely change’ that most people can relate to when you swear to yourself you’ll break your bad habits to make a better life for yourself, deciding that THIS will be the day youll change but you could say that any day again and again and never actually do anything to change or stick with it
