The answer isnt to stop caring though, he clearly doesn't reciprocate your care, so you should care about something that actually rewards you for caring. its more fun. it makes you care about yourself more too. ppl are too nonchalant now. caring is actually dope

now this isn’t an extreme opinion where i believe everyone is suffering a lack of caring. it isn’t everyone. but a very wise brooklyn dj once told me, “in a room of 40 [people], the one screaming is always the one to be heard”. the nonchalant epidemic is the screaming person in a room of people who once cared so deeply. i often ask my younger friends what their plans are for the future, i myself am someone who is in a constant state of “chalant”ness especially for my long term goals.

why? why won’t you care? when you were a child and someone brought up your favorite tv show- you cared, when you fell and scraped your knee on the asphalt- you cared, when you got your heart broken for the first time you were so so angry- you cared. where did that fervor go? passion, empathy, creativity, the essence of the human spirit, it all stems from daring to give a fuck about anything. caring so intensely is the most badass thing a person can do, so hug your friends, tell your girlfriend you love her, start a new medium. start caring about something so much that it becomes the center of your world, and then care a little more.

highly sensitive person who has a lot of empathy over here 🙋♀️ i struggle with the same thing, i find myself having to isolate a lot because all the feelings are just overwhelming and it's so tough being surrounded by all the constant negativity in the world. don't think you should stop caring, it's also important to take care of yourself, a lot of people take advantage of people who care too much, but i still think it's so beautiful to care about others.

local music scenes often suck because everyones trying to sell you something. A band is trying to get tiktok famous, a promoter is trying to make money, clout has poisoned the well that art drinks from.
Just find a spot, ask friends to bring amps and drums, tell everyone to get there at 7 and listen to your buddies play music. literally anyone can do it. it can be alot to manage and be responsible for but its worth it
