I graduated right before covid but obviously didn't know it was coming and spent my meagre savings on travelling in 2019. I don't regret it, but when lockdowns were happening here I had to find a job in an essential industry to get by when everything else was closed, and it was an exhausting workplace. Do I wish I jumped into more opportunities that were specifically open to recent grads in my industry? Maybe! But what's happened has happened, and I did what I could at the time. I think just stay open to things that you can only do in this period of your life :)

Thank you for the insight, I deeply appreciate it <3 I can't imagine the new grad life during COVID-19; living through historical events is batshit crazy and yk yea we truly make the best out of what we can

I graduated with a degree that i def shouldโ€™ve applied to grad school with - instead I went right into the workforce and hated where I ended up so I just started to upskill and build a modest portfolio of any kind of work I was skilled at to get a job. I for sure hit up old friends from college to help me network and find something that fit and itโ€™s paid off - you really do have to light a fire under your own ass and look at people in a very transactional light as far as giving you resources/time/opportunity and be hopeful and perhaps delusional enough for it to work donโ€™t treat this as a temporary thing, donโ€™t get lost in the sause!

I felt things were over at 22 after giving 4+ years to one company using a skill I learned. I was sad like all my good years were washed up by a 9-5. After I tried 3 different jobs it made me realize 'It's only just begun.' The feeling only came from maintaining health: nutritional, psychological, sleep, and physical. Otherwise, you'll always feel sort of behind/ahead. So I decided to go to school because I want security in a volatile market--sometimes YouTube University is not enough when applying. economy not only financially but as management of resources (and self)

After graduating I kept my student job to fix the bills and then on the side I started applying for ones that related to my studies. Sucked ass big time. Soooo many applications and sooo many rejections. Eventually I got a paid internship through nepotism, which turned into a temp job. Was super lucky to receive that opportunity and hoping that the experience will help me when I need to start job hunting again.

currently being a bit more financially responsible and finding that the only way for me to stay on top of things is to know my daily budget and actually write it down and see the numbers with my own eyes, because numbers don't mean shit to me otherwise
