I was convinced my Birks were destined for the landfill, but there are places that can do full footbed and sole reconstructions. I sent mine out to https://repairmybirkenstocks.com/ (Michelangelo was an absolute gem of a person) and got them back a few weeks later good as new! Basically everything is new except the straps. Huge win for sustainability, but also this cost me ~$80 as opposed to $150 for a new pair!

I just recently super glued my pair back together. Theyโ€™ve still got some life left in them.

this is a bit of a premature rec bc my boots are still at the cobbler... but im confident in this decision. if u are anything like me and buy secondhand shoes that may have been stored poorly (i just ordered this pair of boots and they shipped from miami so chances are they were stored somewhere w high humidity) or are just plain old (the adhesives get weak over time) u have probably dealt w some sole drama. i am happy to say that this is an option for u!!! it also extends their longevity

Get your boots fixed! Mine are fixed now! They were broken and now I can wear them again! (Iโ€™ve linked my local cobbler as if that will be useful for literally anyone hahaha)

Here it is, folks! Volume I of what could very well be a continuous project. Thank you so much to everyone that submitted - I smiled the entire time I was putting this together. It's best listened to with headphones โ˜บ๏ธ Liner Notes: This collection of field recordings is a collaborative effort with users of PI.FYI, each of which recorded their own pieces. It features audio from all over the world and exhibits eclectic moments from London Underground commutes to cuckoo bird calls in Dhaka to the sounds of a century-old American diner. Online communities like PI.FYI often represent a diverse set of people, places, and experiences, but together, the submissions form a living collage that highlights the commonalities of modern life - a unifying message for such a tumultuous time. The first track features all of the sounds played at once in an attempt to create an audio snapshot of an online community but in their offline lives. The individual recordings are unedited except for minor gain and compression adjustments for consistency across the collection.
