My god everything is experienced better this way. Stop looking at guides, walkthroughs, endings explained (my least favorite), even the blurbs on the back. Such a rare opportunity in this time to go into something without knowing anything about it, yet so rewarding. To be pleasantly surprised or blown away, to have no idea what’s happening, to find that you really didn’t like it, an opinion formed on your own.. nothing is more valuable

I do this a lot, especially with movies. hate watching trailers or reading reviews before watching the movie

Been going to the movies blind for the last two years and I love it. I don’t think I would have enjoyed Anatomy of A fall for example ,,as much as I did if I knew the synopsis

This is exactly the thing I support. I’ve been going into movies with zero info and it’s been mind blowing. i thought “The Brutalist” was a biopic because all j saw was the weird vague trailer!

Yes to this! I’ve been actively avoiding movie trailers and it makes going to the cinema 10x better. Like other commenters, I’ve also gone in unknown to a few music gigs and have never been disappointed. Enjoy a little surprise and delight.

The need for control is real. Permitting you don’t have dietary issues, allergies with food. I mean, we never know what’s going to happen anyway, but everything has become so reliable, scheduled, structured and familiar with tech. Resilience and our ability to adapt is what makes us human and got us here in the first place. Now we seem to be taking that control to the NTH degree. I agree, find spontaneity! ACTIVATE YOUR CHILDHOOD WONDER. BE CURIOUS. RISKY. JUST BE!

If you’re lucky enough to not have dietary restrictions, don’t look at menus online. trust a restaurant, be surprised

@DR_LARRY We do not get exposed to enough twist endings without being aware of them beforehand... So jealous that sounds *nuts*

Saw one of my now favorite artists like this!! My friend was a big fan and invited me along with them, and I had plenty of time to listen but I just didn’t for some reason? It was Amigo The Devil in October 2023, and people at the show were like “omg are you sure? let us know if you’re okay! give us a 👍🏻👎🏻 at some point, alright?” And I was FIIIIIIIINE lmao I’ve seen him again a couple of times since Also did this again in mid-April with an old college friend and loved that artist as well but I forget his name 😭

I understand that there’s a certain appeal going into experiences totally blind, discovering plots and details in real time. But I also think the concept of “spoilers” trains us to believe the magic of certain art forms is in the grand reveal. Believing something is spoiled/rotten/devalued once the “secret” is out feels like a symptom of living in a world where everything is seen as disposable. Instead of being disappointed by premature reveals, try letting it spark even more intrigue, curiosity, and attention to detail 💕

stop looking at letterboxd or rotten tomatoes before u go see the movie. stop reading the goodreads before buying the book. dont look at the album reviews before listening to it. be stupid! go in blind! consume what u want without consulting every other idiot online! since when did we all become experts anyway

My beloved waits for me while I’m showering sometimes and when I come out lets me cradle her to my chest. I think it is the purest love I have ever felt for anything. I’ve read that people do this with human babies to foster connection, but human babies aren’t as soft and fuzzy and they don’t purr so I think this is better.
