ever since i sold my soul for a corporate 8-5, i find it hard to stay up past 10. however, i’m not as mad about it as i thought i’d be. i enjoy the cyclical nature of life now, i rise with the sun and go to sleep with the sun, which feels peaceful and like a form of salvation. a lot of things are salvation if you really think about it

i’ve always been a night owl for as long as i can remember and, even more so, decidedly NOT a morning person. recently though, i have started going to bed early (8:30-9:30PM) and it has made so much of a difference: i feel much more rested when i wake up and donā€˜t struggle to wake up at a decent time. i actually tend to naturally wake up at 6:30-7AM now—even on the weekend—when that would have been UNHEARD OF for most of my life.

all of mansour’s works are gorgeous and so beautifully representative of the palestinian condition (pre and post-intifada) but there’s something about 1985’s ā€hopeā€ that’s always stuck with me, much like 1993’s ā€œthe nazareneā€ (also attached). i cannot recommend looking further into mansour’s works enough. follow him on instagram @/sliman.mansour šŸ•Šļø
