I‘ve been thinking about how listening and paying attention to people is such a beautiful way to make them feel heard, thus connecting you two even deeper. When I tell someone something and they remember it, it makes me feel important, loved, noticed, special, etc. and I‘ve really been focusing on doing the same with everyone in my life. Even when it comes to gifts or plans too like if someone bases these things on what I’ve mentioned I want, it makes it that much more meaningful

absolutely nothing sexier or more caring than deciding to give someone your rapt and undivided attention in a world full of distracting bright flashing things where everyone at any given moment is consuming two or three things at once. plus the feeling of someone remembering something minor you said super offhandedly (like a childhood anecdote or a snack you were craving) and bringing it up in conversation again days later makes you feel so seen and understood, literally the loveliest feeling ever.

I've realized I'm a good listener because people sometimes tell me things without me even asking, but I find it beautiful. I also enjoy gossiping. Like it's so sacred when people tell me their secrets. I feel like that girl from the movie Little Secrets (2001). It's a skill I cherish a lot.

I’ve watched this movie maybe 100 times. Oddly enough, it became my comfort film and I would watch clips from it in the car or in bed at very low points. I think as someone who has had deep discomfort with things like healthy relationships and being normal/the darkness inside of them, I really felt such a pull to this movie and I saw it as aspirational for someone like me. I don’t think it defined me as much as it pulled out parts of me that I was trying to come to terms with in my own ways

I joined one recently and love it. they‘re all middle aged to elderly suburban people so my “Carrie Bradshaw if she was a 27 year old Albanian girl” writing confuses them, but finding community in your hobbies makes them so much more meaningful.
