Theres something so primal about seasonally forgetting about peaches, only to mark their return with gluttony. It’s not my fault they all go bad at the same time, and I will not complain. I will enjoy my peaches sporadically like a Greek philosopher, as women have done before me and will do after. What is there to live for but juicy ass seasonal fruits?

I have to agree with Ms. soft that peaches are my favorites. I thought I had eaten peaches before but I did not truly eat a peach until I moved to Ohio. The beginning of peach season is one of my most eagerly anticipated events and I buy them from my favorite farmer—a rotund old man in a red shirt and overalls— by the crateful. Part of the fun is definitely the way they just explode all over you with juice when you eat them. Once I ate a peach next to a waterfall and it was transcendent. I love raspberries, strawberries, and especially blueberries when they’re in season—strawberry and raspberry seasons burn much too fast but blueberries grow for far longer. Big fan of cherries (I love weird tart bush cherries) and plums. A little seedless watermelon with Tajin
Tomatoes the unsung hero fruits. And shoutout to citrus fruits for holding it down I do buy lemons all year long.

Peaches, plums, nectarines, cherries, etc. It’s mind blowing that something so nice can be naturally occurring Just beautiful fruits (look at these plums) and just so delicious even when they’re not technically in season I could (and do) eat five peaches a day Also peach cobbler! Haven’t heard of it but need to try plum cobbler I feel like that’d be crazy

My ex’s mom made the best cherry pie and after some mid attempts at recreating / sourcing solutions I made one from scratch to great success. Here are my tips: look forward to the journey. Come in knowing this will take 2-3 days and once you bake it for two hours you’ll need to still cool it. It will be worth it, trust. This brings me to – make two pies at once. It seems crazy but i don’t think you’ll mess it up, I do think everyone will want seconds of your pie though. I thought this was a little much when my ex’s mom would deliberately have to ratio/portion out single servings and a reserve pie for everyone but now I see the brilliance. use a ratio of frozen sour : sweet cherries. I used .75 lbs of sour and 2lbs of sweet with a half cup and a bit of sugar and it was European level sweet. bake it in a cake pan! I was stressing because I broke my glass pie dish last year but I had lined springform pan with parchment paper and loved the result. double or quad up on making pie crust!!! each recipe gives you a top and bottom for a closed pie, but I’m telling you, you’re not going to want to make this time intensive ass crust unless you're a tradwife influencer sponsored with Mormon church money. trust in Claire Saffitz!
