I know they're plastic but I try not to buy new stuff until the old thing dies. And they just won't die. I don't wash them daily, maybe once to twice a week? I haven't had any issues with mold. I haul it everywhere, all day, everyday.

dont treat your shit like it’s disposable! . My laptop is old as hell and doesn’t work unless it’s plugged into a wall, but you know what I am proud that I cared for it like the finely arranged clump of precious metals and plastics that it is instead of like something I have to upgrade because there’s been 10 new versions in the last 8 years I’ve had it. In fact it makes me a fucking saint. I also always hang dry my undies so they don’t stretch out and get holes in them from heat damage. Things will last if you invest just a modicum of care into them..additionally it feels really nice to be able to point to a hideous Victoria’s Secret thong on the drying rack and say ā€œI’ve had that for 14 yearsā€. Also probably in 2 more years gen alpha kids will point to my laptop and call it ā€œvintageā€, so that’s something to look forward to. Ok Rec over

with so much Stuff in the world i find the whole concept of buying something brand new a little absurd when it’s so easy to find pre-loved things that are still functional or easily repurposed. every time i deviate from that belief i end up regretting it. this includes every piece of technology i own, a dress i bought last minute to go to a fancy event i was underdressed for, my blender, my electric razor (not so guilty that i bought this new, but still wish i’d splurged and gotten one that would last longer - i can just tell this one is gonna self destruct as soon as it works out how), my docs, and fabric i’ve bought new rather than thrifted. even with socks and undies i feel like i could be making them with thrifted fabric instead of buying the mass produced versions

Charlie is a literal dumpster cat. I walked to my local gas station one night and he crawled out from under their dumpster and waited outside the gas station door and then rubbed on me and let me pick him up and carry him home. He is smarter than the average orange. Greta was snatched up by my SO outside a crack house because he knows how deeply I adore torties. She is amazing. Leon is the sweetest big-little boy. He was dumped nearby and found his way to my yard. One of the local ferals had bitten him and it was infected, so I brought him in and he let me shave the fur around his abscess. He is baby. Lady was also dumped but as an elder cat. She had her kittens by my back door one easter morning. After weaning she got fixed and so did the kittens. Kittens got homes and she stayed on the back porch. She now barges her way in and out of the house as it pleases her. Fizgig was found under our propane tank. Fully feral, not weaned but her mom went MIA so we used a crab net to catch her and get her inside. Charlie adopted her as his own and she loves him and hates everyone else.

The first album that I bought was a .25 yardsale cassette of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. No case or album art. I couldn't even tell you why I chose it but I was absolutely hooked when I popped it in my tape player when I got back home. If we're talking full price CDs from the store, my first was Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My dad told me not to waste my money buying an album for just one song. I had to insist that there were 3 songs that I knew I liked and I wanted the album to see if there were more. There were, in fact, a couple more songs I liked but, if my memory is right, I only really listened to the first half and then really disliked the second half.
