used to read it once a year. I like to hold it and walk outside like a diva.

When I started walking up and down Kent Avenue in Williamsburg [REDACTED] years ago, I became obsessed with the trees along the fence line. The fences were rusted to shit, and the branches of the trees just grew through the chain link. Like, the wood engulfed the fences. Grows right through it and around it and subsumes it. It's something I've admired of the trees, and kept it to myself until this moment. Because I noticed, the other day, that the last stretch of where this is happening.... the fence is being replaced and the trees are being cut down so it will probably be another 50 or 100 years until you can see the trees grow through the fences. Go look.

Take a picture of one tree throughout the entirety of autumn . There is probably some coffee-table metaphor about how you change like the trees or something but I am just vain. It’s just beautiful and nice to keep tabs on one tree. I have a tree near my work. His name is Robert and he is mine. He is going through a ginger phase right now though I suspect that he soon will be bald. Read more in my latest substack article

Doesn’t have to be an all-evening affair. warm with some cheap epsom salts and drops of essential oil will soak through your skin and calm you. Take your tea in there, listen to three songs. It resets.

’24Ins: errands and running before/after 8a/p, actually spf, bitters and soda, outdoor movies w/headsets, cutoffs and huge loose shirts, big earrings for weightlifting, loudly sharing political views with octogenarians, fruit for dinner, memoirs with pencil in hand, fresh beach towels by the door, robes, leaving the minute I feel like it ‘24Outs: grease at night, sunburns, cold shrimp for the picnic, working late, grocery hauls, hosting overdone theme parties, alcohol, more than one pair of shoes per outing, rushing anywhere for any reason, nonfiction for work, “because I said I would”
