One of the greatest joys in my life is convening friends and family underneath the tall metal pylons and high-voltage wire in the woods by my childhood home. The cleared access roads are intimate enough to feel like a parlor room between nature and civilization. Go at your own risk.

Fantastic way to connect with nature! so many benefitssss 1. literally hug a tree if you’re into that 2. practice your agility 3. unique activity that can be enjoyed alone or with friends 4. Grounding 5. Brings a sense of childlike wonder 6. you don’t even have to climb—> chillax on the ground while snapping pics of ur friends struggling in the branches, or bring a book to enjoy on a low branch 7. built in opportunity to make a move on a crush! Be all cute and bashful: ask for a lift Be the helpful reliable sort: help boost ur cutie into a tree Prove how cute/ charmingly competitive and capable you are: scale that tree and be really cheeky about how skilled you are 8. Disclaimer: nature should be respected and undisturbed….. with that being said if you happen to find urself up in the branches with a pocket knife…. Fulfill that childhood dream of carving ur name 9. Fantastic vantage point for ppl watching 10. Scaring passerby’s in whatever creative way you like *WARNING* There is always risk in outdoor activities! 1. If you’re not agile, have issues with the dizzies, are afraid of heights, etc. Be very very cautious… pls don’t fall and hurt yourself 2. Careful with electronic and valuable! if it’s just you (in a park for instance) be sure to take your things up with you/ hiding them, if with pals… have someone stay on the ground with your stuff 3. Beware climbing drunk at night… wildly fun… know that you will likely wake up looking like you got into a fight

How often do you meet a tree that allows you to do more than walk beside or below, but so generously allows you to also wander *inside*

Last Thursday, a meteor appeared in the night sky over Los Angeles. I stood in place for 30 seconds watching it blaze brilliant red and orange before fizzling out suddenly. The experience moved me immensely and filled me with a sense of hope that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. I read later that it was a SpaceX satellite. I wish I hadn’t.

There's something about a wet and humid early morning that heals my soul. It's like a free sound bath. Especially if you are lucky and have a little bit of thunder alongside.
