trying my hand at this poetic form called glosa (an old Spanish poetic form) and I’m planning on writing 80 or so lines in the next few days or so. Writing poetry is so rewarding, but I tend to stick to shorter poems. this poetic form explicitly quotes a poem or other source and uses a quatrain (four line chunks) as a wellspring for the ending lines for four ten-line stanzas. I’m challenging myself by basically doing a longer quotation of eight lines and writing eight ten-line stanzas (with maybe a couplet at the end for emphasis). It’s gonna be a challenge but I can’t wait to finish it and share the end result with yall :)

it is so hard these days to get in a routine of writing so: a brief challenge (though I would hesitate to call it a challenge for me because I pay farrrr too much money to do this) but writing a poem every week provides some satisfaction, if not fulfillment for the whole paying for it (and you can see here I wrote this in verse!)

take one of ur old poems or half done drafts or someone else’s poem & reinvent it (golden shove, glosia, etc) or find a strange or strict poetic form & try it out
