Curb Your Enthusiasm

I cannot live without my routine of scrolling through Curb clips/memes/full episodes. Larry David’s orbit is so deeply comforting to me. They love and tolerate him even when he’s horrible. It’s kind of how I felt about Garfield the comic when I was a kid. I love to witness a curmudgeon in their safe space to be curmudgeonly. I feel that way with my friends.

the Larry-Richard Lewis friendship

improv is a big part of what makes Curb so good and nobody was better at it than Richard Lewis. You could see their friendship and chemistry in every scene they were in together. Bickering and fighting one moment and laughing the next. Grabbing lunch and talking about nonsense. A model for us all. RIP

SHE'S FLY

We were doing our weekly grocery shop at Sprouts and this hip black dude (picture a CeeLo Green-type aesthetic) walked by me with his two kids, probably aged 10 & 12, while I was picking fruit in the produce section. He gestured towards me, while talking to his children and said, "look, she's fly".
