i’ve been a converse girl since day 1, and i genuinely buy a new pair every year because i wear them so much that they start to physically deteriorate and i have to replace them. i’ve gone from highlighter yellow low tops in 2015 to black high top platforms to regular red high tops now, and i can never get different casual sneakers from my beloved converse.

i’ve had my current pair for two years (i think?) and at this point they’re completely trashed. for the first year i wore them almost every day, and it shows. quite literally busting at the seams. the pic doesn’t even show the full extent of the damage. when i bend my foot, the fabric rips. there are knots in the laces that cannot be undone. the soles are so worn down that i can feel every little pebble on the ground as i walk. terrible arch support, but i don’t care. i love my converse :)

I’ve always been a converse consumer, trading one black high top pair for the next, scoring a printed version at the outlet every few years. I recently made the purchase of a pair of sunflower yellow high tops that have utterly taken over my thoughts when getting dressed in the morning. I get dressed and think “how can i make the chucks work?”
they’ve truly become my “happy“ shoe, for when i’m already riding a high feeling or need to be influenced to smile. I just started taking ssris again and these shoes do more for my mental health than any drug. when i put them on, i‘m setting the intention of happiness, regardless of whether it exists already.

classic for a reason. wore my first pair for 2 years and they held up extremely well. if i had to default to any shoe for the rest of my life it would be this one

i went to loch ness today!! i’ve wanted to go there ever since i was a little kid reading my monsters and cryptids book from the book fair cause i was a freaky little spooky kid. did not see any monsters but i bought a little figurine from the nessie hunter guy in dore :)
