Context is that I'm severly and chronically depressed (yes, we all are, probably, I know) so when anything breaks through that thick framing in my mind it is... interesting? And this prompt of "reccomending" that's sparking overall genuine sharing of niche personal joys/experiences is definitely interesting, and kind of giving... AND possibly even lightly serving...

they don’t have to be precious or cool or interesting or unique or anything special really it’s just a tiny piece of yourself that other people may resonate with to recommend is to share joy 🫢

It occurs to me... that the posts I most connect with are ones where people unfurl their weirdo habits, values, inner lives (i love the "crush" genre of pi posts), ways of living, likes, dislikes, life philosophical points of view etc. I do treasure proper recs with an object, i.e. a new record or book or 8 hour youtube video, but I find myself really moved when someone shares how they live a good life. appreciating!!

I just like telling people about the things I like. I want to share what I'm excited about. I want to share the little moments I feel like people might also understand. Sometimes I don't have a specific friend I can share it with. Sometimes I just want to put it out there to have it out of my head. It's not cynical, it's just the need to tell people about things.

You can simply sleep on your overstuffed leather couch that's in your basement whenever you want btw. You can sleep there overnight. You can sleep there during the day. You can sleep on your guest twin mattress. Also, you can sleep on your shag IKEA rug that's on the floor for a nice spine and hip alignment reset.

I really have missed posts being in order... knowing where you last left off scrolling, knowing when you're caught up on the feed, having temporal context for your feed as you go. All things the algorithms have mostly shot dead.
