I guess we should never say never (like maybe generative AI will be able to make all sorts of videos in a couple years but let's not think too much about that :P), but I'm glad to reduce my intake of easily generated content like street interviews, gaming streams (which I was never into anyway), or like "20 locations you're NEVER allowed to go" listicle videos, and to increase my intake of stuff like "watch me renovate this dilapidated house over 40 weeks", "I traveled from San Francisco to Seattle using only public transit: Day 1", "here's the life story of this person whose grave I found in a forgotten cemetery in the middle of the woods in rhode island", etc. I love a really longform video where I'm like "there's no way to get AI to make this for you" (video examples are from Tia Weston, AdamDoesNotExist, and Dime Store Adventures, respectively!)

to preface this i do NOT!!!! fw ai generated motion pictures. but. it's so fascinating seeing how a filmmaker like him with a relatively prominent cult following is now fucking around making shitty ai generated videos on youtube, not because he has any actual interest in it, but because he truly, genuinely, has fuck else to do.

YAY Dirty girls by Michael lucid - don’t fully remember what it’s about but it’s in my playlist of cool docs. The perfect painting and hotline Miami by polyblank - tbh u would recommend his entire channel! Makes art history type Of videos but in such a cool interesting way that can keep my brain focused (not sure how to explain it) michael reeves - Super funny and super cool channel. He doesn’t post a lot but everytime he does it’s great. He makes a lot of inventions but of non serious things and tests them out with his friends. a classic one I’d recommend is the roomba that screams when it bumps into something! Also the surgery robot one is good too, honestly there’s actually too many here that I like to just put a few recommendations of his videos LOL

it's actually better to be weird! confuse people, be ugly, passionate, be YOU. i spent so much time trying to be perfect and liked by everyone and that way i just got a lot of shallow connections because i refused to let people see the real me and get to really know me. it's silly to chase perfection as it donesn't exist and being weird is better than being boring :p

i've been struggling a lot lately and one thing my therapist really stressed is that i need to push myself to do things i love even though i don't get the same satisfaction i once got so today i got my coloured pencils out after a loong time and started drawing and i already feel a bit better so i wanted to share this small step it's not the best art but its art <3
