i've been rotating between the following breakfasts and i've noticed a serious decrease in snacking during the day. i think sweet breakfasts need to be phased out and kept as a special occasion thing 🙅🏽‍♀️ • seeded sourdough toast with marinated feta spread as a base then olives and sardines in tomato sauce as toppings – delicious • two poached eggs, half an avocado, blanched greens and smoked salmon • semi crispy spam/bacon/halloumi/sausage, eggs, half an avo • sardines/tinned mussels on toast with feta and capers or fresh parsley/basil

I love having my breakfasts like grazing boards... an over-easy egg, sliced avocado, fruit assortment, sausage, toast with hollandaise sauce, a yogurt with granola.. don't forget a delicious warm beverage Breakfast should be extended as long as possible

when i get into a breakfast routine the angels sing. these are the two things i always gravitate towards: - some sort of an egg scramble. it’s crucial to have one cheese, one green, and one other vegetable. lately i’ve been blistering tomatoes in olive oil, butter, salt and pep, and when those soften i add my scrambled eggs also with salt and pepper. i’ll throw in a handful of spinach, or kale, or even arugula, and let that cook. when it’s almost done i add in some mediterranean herb feta crumbles. always serve with a piece of buttered toast or even crisp up some potatoes on the side. andouille sausage is my favorite protein for this when i have it. - i literally used to have this everyday for a month a couple of years ago and every now and then i come back to it but never as intensely. old fashioned oats and oatmilk on the stovetop. add vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, half of a mashed banana, a handful of chia seeds, some salt, and honey or agave to sweeten. let that cook and assemble your toppings! i usually cut up the other half of the banana and accompany that with any other fruit i might have. i add melted almond or peanut butter, granola, more chia seeds, and i would always add some yogurt, but ik you said dairy free!! mix it all together and you get this slop of oats, seeds, fruit, yogurty goodness and it’s so filling! there are definitely easier breakfasts but these two are always the most filling in my opinion. banana and toast is always a classic.

reading is a habit of building and developing your empathy and critical thinking skills. you’re forced to sit with an idea for however long you are reading it and forced to contextualise it and comprehend it within your own life and perspective. You can’t just scroll away or pause or put it on 2x speed. you have to sit with it. it’s super underrated, but genuinely I’ve made this a habit for the last year and feel like a totally different person. also you come out of it having learned something new or seeing the world in a slightly new way. I literally do not see any downsides to reading. make reading cool again! also you don’t have to do it in one big block, you can space it out — 15 mins here, 45 there — whatever works for you!

i don't think anyone ever intends to become a recreational ornithologist. but i've noticed that it definitely creeps up on you slowly in your mid-twenties. it starts with noticing how funny pigeons are, then learning pigeon lore, and suddenly you're feeding your neighbourhood birds every morning and buying books on birds. as a child i idolised the pigeon lady in home alone 2, and i woke up this morning and realised — i AM the pigeon lady 🐦

our cultural obsession with being perceived as cool is a disease. its peak capitalistic/consumerist propaganda. fuck being cool. like what you like and who cares if it's cool or not. it's tiresome and we need to leave it in 2024. literally nothing gives me the ick more than people who betray themselves in an attempt to be perceived as cool by the masses. be yourself — even if it means you're 'uncool'.
