I have been digging this band for a while, songs like "Where the Good Ones Go" and "Violent Jubilee" are really nice. I am glad they are getting a little more buzz for their current album, which came out last week. This song is in a similar vein to the twangy indie rock but I would say more closer to straight up country than some of the other stuff going on right now.

Linked my favorite song from their recent EP. Found this artist through tiktok a few months ago and had been really looking forward to this EP. They bring this labored, midwestern emo thing to their sound that feels really comforting to me. Plus, i love a vocal flip, especially one that sounds like sad yodeling. I just think they’re really cool :-)

one of my favorite, most slept-on bands ever. cheesy 80s pop that has no right to be as lyrically impressive and self-aware as it is. also they did a mostly instrumental record in 2003 called I Trawl the Megahertz that’s all string arrangements with radio interview samples blended in if that’s more your thing. awesome range, Cars and Girls was my most listened to song of 2024. also the singer dresses like that now so u know he’s the real deal

Its a web app that people submit 1 song per week and then everyone gets to vote on the all the different songs but their own. After all the rounds have been completed, the person with the most votes wins! Its a fun way to share music with people and get competitive. Been using this app with other online communities and friends for a few months and have really been enjoying it.
NOTE: I created a PI.FYI League where the first submission is this friday. I limited it to 25 people for now not sure if I should open that up to more but it would be pretty overwhelming to have more than 25 songs to listen and vote on. The join link is attached to this rec!
