go to your nearest bookstore right now and pick up anything authored by this beautiful Hungarian that's available on the shelves. prominent themes are melancholy and desire (lit af) and his prose is syntactically challenging yet totally ecstatic to read. greatest living working writer of today God told me so himself :(

i had read chasing homer (another book of his) some time ago and loved it and satantango seemed to be more popular in the us book market so i gave it a shot and i do believe that lászló krasznahorkai is one of the best living working authors. a while ago there was an n+1 piece about how all litfic sounds the same and krasznahorkai proves them all wrong. he has these long winding sentances that build tension and they’re so distinct i love love love highly recommend him as an author cannot wait to read the rest of the oeuvre

war, the search for identity, love and loss, the fragility and the resilience of human spirit, with a thin layer between reality and allegory.. easily one of the most poetic novels i have read

More so a guiding principle than literal practice ofc but in the era of "if it wasn't posted did it even exist" I'm starting to reallly get around to putting process over product.
