Every song is great… these guys were in a band before this one called Johnathan fire eater which pretty much sparked the NYC rock scene during the late 90s early 2000s (the strokes, yeah yeah yeahs, LCD, tv on the radio, interpol, all those great bands). Also Meet Me In The Bathroom by Lizzy Goodman is a great book on that whole period of time.

This band only made one album and it’s so very good. It’s that indie rock from the early 2000s but it’s post rock but the vocals are shredded and it’s something different. And the drummer can’t sit still but he shouldn’t and it’s really good. Just listen to it!

Is This It might be the catchiest indie rock record ever. Every single note is so calculated. Even the breath's and coughs just fit perfectly. They were billed as the "Saviors of Rock and Roll" but they kinda killed it because no one has put out anything on the level of their debut since. Not even them. They also just looked perfect for their sound. A perfectly packaged band delivering a perfect product for young people and people who wish they were still young....even a quarter century later.

Seriously. Here I am back on my Brecht biz--but what other band is dropping bombs from incredible lesser-know Brecht-Weill operatic collab "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny" in the middle of their debut?? Get it Jim. I loved the Doors as a kid, forgot about them and got into Foxygen, and am now back in Doors town. "Light my fire" yeah yeah yeah... The Crystal Ship--End of the Night--unhinged Brecht banger Alabama Song??? I'm into a lot of things, but this I'm *into* 😮‍💨
