I always try to be more direct first and tell people what is hurtful and ask for them to make adjustments, but if they don’t care or can’t make those adjustments, it’s okay to find friends who are a better fit. I have fewer friends now, but they’re quality relationships with reciprocity and mutual respect.

i was in this position for a very long time, but i’ve had so much more fun and happy memories with the 2 people i have chosen to be in my life v.s. the people i chose to let go, despite knowing the ladder for longer. choose ur happiness !!!

@_KZR_ yes as my sister said to me “it’s run its course” its hard when you expect someone to grow with you but they stay in the same place as when you met them

@_KZR_ yeah...and I feel so bad because they have legitimately gotten me through horrible times. But I don't feel that easy lightness that comes with good friendship anymore.
@_KZR_ that is really tough, I don’t feel I can say the same as I think it’s always been a fairly one sided friendship in my scenario but when its not right it’s not right and friendship is a draining thing to force
