i've said before but i will say it all again: awful ceo, terrible business model, TRASH AUDIO QUALITY, overpriced, i can go on forever. FUCK SPOTIFY AND FUCK DANIEL EK
do you have any advice or resources for porting playlists/archiving? have been trying to divest from spotify for years but i have had my account since I was 15 (i’m 29, so almost half my life lmao) and I can’t bear the thought of losing absolutely everything forever. my husband has hundreds of playlists at this point and has even more archiving to do but it’s so much it feels impossible to begin with. I’m planning to burn the best of the best straight onto CDs but we don’t know where to begin to keep our catalogues but finally cut ties with spotify.
@WORLDONFIRE Tidal recommends this, and it's super useful: https://tidal.com/transfer-music <-- Music transfer for moving playlists from Spotify to Tidal
@WREN-SEB Pockets Casts has been great, I have found just about every podcast I want to listen to, and I'm still on the Free tier.

@MOONBEAMS literally any distributor is better! say what you want about apple, but they compensate artists more fairly, their service is cheaper, and the quality is remarkably better (i have compared the two many times). other good services are tidal, deezer, shit even amazon music would be better.
@MOONBEAMS I switched to paid Tidal (for the second time) in January. The first time I left them was because I was missing the user playlists, Tidal has some but it's hard to find, really limited. This second time, I'm fully staying. No AI slop, better quality, I even let it auto-play music for me because it's not the usual overplayed songs a hundred times, it actually gives me similar artists/songs to what I was listening to. Seriously, try Tidal.
And then try out Soundcloud/Bandcamp, too.
for one, they're horribly corrupt and their billionaire CEO is a POS. this is not the focus of my rant, though; my bigger beef is this: he owns one of the biggest music companies in the world and doesn't even care about audio quality! the absolute BEST quality you can get on spotify is a LOSSY MP3 EQUIVALENT and is the same as the LOWEST quality apple offers. Listening to music in lossless on apple compared to spotify's "high resolution" is like night and day.
i get people enjoy it for the social aspects but apple has all that too. okay sure you won't know if you're a top .0001% listener of jimmy buttfuck but jesus christ do we need to stat farm this hard
i hope spotify dies i will see to it
rant over tl;dr spotify sucks and literally anything is a better option if you remotely care about listening to music
i have apple music a chance for a while but i had to go back home😔apple music is soooo buggy…maybe it’s just my phone but if i skip too many songs it just stops playing completely like girl🧍🏾♀️plus spotify feels so communal!! i love seeing my blends w my friends and sending playlists and whatever so yeah spotify rules💚💚💚💚🥂
