Have you seen the Netflix series? Its very much worth the watch. I also love the novel (ive read it 3 times) and I went in with low expectations for the series. But I was pleasantly surprised.

Truly not trying to be cool, the simple fact is that this movie is like cocaine for a child of divorce. The whole thing of your parents turning into something you can't recognize and feeling like you have to move through the world alone, hits a little too close to home. I bought the DVD at a newstand when I was five to have something to do at my dad's apartment and never went back. Watched like two times a week, every week, for like a year
