after experiencing a bout of depression, i'm getting back into fitness with active movement for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. no goals except to feel good in my body. (the last part is partially a reminder to myself because i'm nowhere where i used to be)

If you’ve been out of it for a minute and it’s your first time back, just go to the gym and futz about and read an article on your phone and drink from your water bottle and maybe use the treadmill or stairmaster for 5 minutes. It’s important to stay at the gym for at least 30 minutes to start absorbing the “energy” of the gym. Or, lace up your joggers and kinda go for a walk with the “intention” or eventually getting into a run/jog but you never actually run. Maybe you pick up some protein powder and crĂ©atine on the way home at the health food store. This is important to prime your sympathetic nervous system for the fitness to occur in the coming days and weeks and months. You’re lubricating and warming up the “mind muscle connection”. Every journey starts with a first step.

honestly I’m not sure if I’m depressed or going through a lazy spell. dragged myself to the gym and these endorphins really make me feel like my entire life is turning around lol
