Whether it’s their Licensed to Ill era or the genius art of Paul’s Boutique, they are all amazing in their own respect. Part of what makes their videos so great is that they never take themselves too seriously. You can tell they're having fun, poking fun at themselves, at pop culture, and at the idea of what a music video should be. It’s a perfect visual extension of their sound, especially the videos directed by Spike Jonze. They're serious musicians, but they’re not afraid to be silly. That balance is rare—and it’s what makes their videos endlessly rewatchable and influential. They were DIY before it was cool, ironic before it was cliché, and always authentic. My favourites have to be ‘Hey Ladies’, ‘Sabotage’, ‘Intergalatic’ and ‘Body movin’

It's hard to explain the cultural significance of Vine to anyone that didn't experience it. I can still remember the Vines I made despite losing them to the whims of the business decisions that would eventually shutter the platform forever. It was beautiful in its simplicity and held a special place in the hearts of many. The memory of it only lives on in shoddy YouTube compilations that could easily be overlooked as clickbait to the untrained eye. For those of us that remember, the compilations still have the capacity to shepherd us through our darkest moments. RIP Vine. You were a strange one. “There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.” -Hunter S. Thompson

i was about 3 or 4 years old when my eldest sister was in middle school. everyday before school, she would watch mtv. i genuinely believe i gained sentience while watching the helena music video on mtv at like 6 in the morning while my sister got ready for school. this is one of my fondest (and probably my first) memories and mcr will forever mean so much to me

k-pop actually lead me to meeting my fiancé in 2016 when i was 13 years old. we were both fans of BTS and had fan accounts on instagram. we quickly became very good friends and now 9 years later, we're engaged... it's kinda silly but it's true :)
