for some reason sophomores come into the year a little bit older and wiser than they were the year before, and they're excited to not be on the bottom of the totem pole anymore, and so they become preoccupied with being "cool" and end up mean and jaded. don't let other people tell you it's lame to be sincere. 15 is too young to give up and hate the world
i’m just gonna say it:
the true secret sauce ingredient
to being cool, is getting older—
you’ll never be as cool at 20,
as you will be at 30—it’s a fact;
the more you know about who you
truly are, the cooler you become.
i was in washington DC last month and the whole time i was in awe of how much art and history and science and culture you could just go and experience completely for free. i paid $0 to go in look at this beautiful painting that could’ve been sold to some rich guy for a jillion dollars instead. i often feel like everything is out to squeeze everything out of me that it can so i really value that we have things that exist just to enrich our minds and souls
