i can almost never bring myself to dispose of old media, clothes etc. it's kinda selfish and clutterish maybe but i cut out tags and make collages of old stuff to paste in my journal and keep a piece of them before disposing. A bit patch from a shirt that doesn't fit anymore? An empty matchbook from an electric night? Show program from a band you saw in a foreign city? I have a transit fare citation in mine. It's all game and it's a great way to preserve memory. I put mine in my journal so I don't have to write shit down.

- I keep misc. 2d ephemera in large paper boxes. early on it was shoeboxes so that’s childhood-college (plus the “e-files my dad has kept of my earliest paper days) and now i have a bigger photo box and will soon graduate to another. this is post-it notes left by my husband, movie ticket stubs, programs from exhibitions or shows, wristbands, business cards; receipts, etc. all loosely organized but sort of layered like the starts of a landfill or rock formation to be sifted layer by layer during times of reminiscence. - photos in the envelopes i get them at the print shop labeled with the time. these are in a large fabric box. photo strips are in a small plastic box but regrettably unlabeled (if you like photo strips, condition yourself early on to date them because you will thank yourself later on) - birthday/christmas/etc cards in a pokemon happy meal box, will need to get another - written recipes (from myself or others) in my recipe tin - i keep important legal documents and passport in a fireproof envelope my mom got me for christmas a few years ago. she had a nightmare about fire and got everyone fireproof envelopes. - boring tax shit in a plastic box in case i need it - my marriage certificate in a silver plated scroll -lately i’ve been keeping a scrap journal of notes, recipes, sketches, schematics, clippings, etc. really no rules no boundaries shut any time i need a piece of paper i add to it or glue small things i’ve accumulated in it and i think ik do this going forward. i also add any stickers i acquire to it.

For a hoarder like me, what better way to organize cute aquarium tickets or photo booth strips than collaged into a little notebook for posterity?

i’ve been carrying this old notebook around and filling it up with ticket stubs, random pieces of paper, those stickers that come on fruit etc instead of writing anything down i just glue whatever in it it’s fun tbh

exploring creative pursuits can lead to overly precious and sensitive thinking about the things you make!!! might just be me but oh well. Sharing works in progress with trusted people who get it can help lessen the fear of slamming post and can generate useful feedback. win-win! 😃👍

🎶here comes a feeling you thought you'd forgotten🎵 next time you're traversing the youtube highway tune it all down to 480p. Hell go as far as 240p. I'm curious whether this practice provides anything revelatory🤔
